Position Summary The Preschool Van Driver drives vans for regular pickup and drop off routes and activities for preschool children ages 3-5 years old, under supervision of the Early Learning Program Manager and Lead Teacher.
We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic candidate who wants to work a guaranteed 4 hours per day split shift (morning and afternoon).
A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is not required for this position.
We are seeking one driver for our Beaverton route and another for our Hillsboro route.
Duties & Responsibilities Drives a passenger van.
Communicate with staff and parents to adjust route & schedule as necessary.
Performs proper pre-trip checklist before driving.
Drivers are scheduled and assigned by the Early Learning Program Manager.
Loads and unloads students in designated areas, following proper COVID-19 safety procedures.
Follow driving and child safety rules.
Returns vehicle to assigned parking areas.
Performs proper post-trip including emptying garbage, sweeping.
Skills and Attributes Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Good working with young children and parents under tight timelines.
Qualifications Clean driving record for 5 years and valid driver's license.
Ability to pass a background check and register with the Oregon Childcare Background Registry.
Speaks English.
Fluency in Somali, Swahili, Tigrinya, Arabic, or another African language preferred.
School bus experience preferred.
Work Conditions & Location We are looking for drivers in to work in Beaverton for routes to Errol Hassel and Imlay elementary schools.
The shifts are on school days, from roughly 7:
30am-9:
30am in the morning and 2:
30pm-4:
30pm in the afternoon.
Drivers are guaranteed 4 hours of pay each day they drive.
Position is open and will begin sometime in September 2022 and run through June 2023.
