Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate and complete documentation - Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-9 or ICD-10 coding systems - Verify patient information, such as demographic data and insurance coverage - Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies - Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations - Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information for billing purposes Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and billing procedures - Knowledge of medical office operations and electronic health record systems - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and coding - Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines - Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients - Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus As a Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for medical services.
