Summary
The Buyer II is responsible for all purchasing functions, ranging from MRO buys to all production material purchasing.
Responsibilities
Order materials to meet anticipated production requirements established by Material Requirement Planning (MRP).
Facilitate the timely delivery of parts, components, and supplies to support production.
Prepare reports summarizing production-related information such as material overages and shortages.
Prepare forecasting analyses and facilitate communication to suppliers.
Track shortages/late orders and complete system updates.
Analyze and execute MRP Exception Report.
Manage rejected component returns and Supplier corrective action administration.
Analyze and resolves cost/price discrepancies.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
Review existing processes, looking for and identifying improvement opportunities.
Manage and evaluate Breadman and Bond Programs.
Perform quarterly analysis on safety stocks.
Establish and maintain KanBan deliveries from suppliers.
Complete other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis in operations management/supply chain.
Minimum four years' experience in procurement or other experience related to contract negotiation, pricing, cost management, or material planning.
APICS certification and experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX highly preferred. Demonstrated experience and strength with MRP / ERP.
Resourceful and analytical mindset with advanced problem-solving and Excel skills.
High energy and drive with ability to process complex situations thoroughly yet quickly.
Able to balance priorities and follow up on action items; excellent follow-through and reporting capabilities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience participating on cross-functional teams.
Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment desired.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
