The primary goal of this position is to ensure the smooth operation of the helpdesk services, desktop managed services, and end user satisfaction. This person will provide tier 2 or 3 support for application, server, network and data storage services for system users. This position is highly customer service oriented, and requires excellent interpersonal, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
This position is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting Desktop Support technologies, including images and image maintenance, application deployment, security and patch updates, user account control, helpdesk operation and ticket tracking systems. This role helps implement tier 1 through 3 end user support both on-site and remotely, creates and maintains documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects and tasks as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved equipment and procedures. They must be well versed with the technologies and administration of Windows based environments, including Windows 2003 and 2008 R2 servers, Windows XP, and Windows 7. This position requires excellent analytical, problem management, organization, project coordination, communication, and customer service skills.
Responsible for the availability and integrity of physical/virtual desktop and laptop systems.
Responsible for Printer systems and devices.
Responsible for additional end user devices (scanners, printers, Smart phones, Blackberry devices, iPads, etc.)
Hardware, software, and supplies ordering and fulfillment.
Responsible for desktop/laptop OS imaging and image deployment.
Responsible for client side VoIP phone systems support (Cisco UCCx express)
Responsible for application packages and deployment.
Daily management and maintenance tasks for related technologies.
Responsible for creating and maintaining end user accounts and systems, including Active Directory GPO and logon scripts.
Provides support for tier 1 through 3 network and server issues.
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document systems issues.
Develops and maintains disaster recovery procedures for desktop and laptop systems.
Works closely with the Senior Network and Systems Engineers on server, network, vLAN, and VoIP phone systems support.
Manages systems back-ups and restores, including servers and workstations, backup schedule, and tape rotations.
Works well both alone or in a team setting, and is expected to manage their time effectively.
Conduct periodic audits, testing, and remediation in accordance with IT, PCI and SSAE/SOC1 Audit policies.
Maintains relationships with key vendors.
Maintain a highly secure infrastructure, protecting sensitive corporate data from internal and external threats.
Respond to requests for assistance or information in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in On-call support rotation.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) and 5+ years experience working as a Desktop Support Specialist or Engineer, in an environment supporting Windows 2003 and 2008 servers, Active Directory, Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems, and VoIP phone systems equipment.
Minimum 3+ years working as a Systems Administrator supporting Windows servers 2003 and 2008R2 in an Active Directory environment.
Two or more years working with OS and application imaging, packaging, patching, and deployment technologies, including a thorough knowledge of Group Policy Objects implementations.
Experience working in environments supporting 150+ users and 60+ servers, including call center and eCommerce.
Strong ability to work with a wide variety of end user personalities, and adjust communication methods where required.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Strong understanding of backup and restore tools and technologies (tape, D2D, D2D2T, etc.)
Strong familiarity with Windows Server 2003 and 2008 R2, Active Directory , IIS 6.x, and IIS 7.x, VMware 4.x, vSphere, SANs and shelves, HP servers, Dell workstations, and Cisco switches and routers.
Working familiarity of DNS, DFS, TCP/IP, UDP, sFTP, SMTP, IIS, Exchange 2003/2010, Symantec products (Endpoint, Backup Exec, SMTP gateway, etc.)
Ability to assess, document, and implement a high level of security across all segments of the IT infrastructure.
Understands potential impacts to processes and systems across organization and factors these into solutions. Excellent conceptualization, analytical, logic, and documentation skills.
Must meet work deadlines, have regular attendance, good oral and written communication skills, high level of confidentiality, unquestionable ethics and integrity, good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a team, and ability to organize, and prioritize.
Qualifications Preferred
Industry certifications (MCSE, MCP Win7, CCNA, Hardware+, Network+, ITIL, etc.)
Experience with performance monitoring and management tools such as Orion APM/NPM
Experience with Cisco Unified Call Center Express phone and Unity voice mail systems
Project Management experience and/or certifications
IIS 7.x web farm management experience
Financial industry experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
