Senior Construction Inspector

Overview:
This position is for a Part-Time/On-Call ODOT Construction Inspector who will work in the areas of Project Administration, Construction Inspection, and Construction Material Testing and Inspection. The position or positions will require travel to the project site and may require temporary stays at the location depending on time and distance for travel to the site from the base of operations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring daily contract compliance to project plans and specifications on construction projects and for documentation to support payment and project acceptance.
Enforces contractor compliance to plans and specifications; Reviews contract change order costs.
Checks final contract estimates for completeness; Determination of final contract cost.
Serves as project inspector responsible for coordinating all assigned phases of work between project manager's office and the contractor on major roadway projects.
Inspects bridges under construction by checking bridge footing excavations and fills for correct alignment .
Checks horizontal alignment of bridge sections and vertical alignments of all footings, beam seats, sections, walls, and deck.
Refers construction not in compliance with plans and specifications to project manager.
Recommends acceptance or rejection of construction materials for quantity, quality, and conformance to applicable specifications; records characteristics of materials incorporated into the project by the contractor.
Inspects contractors' work on one or more construction projects; reviews, collates, and records data received from other inspectors.
Read, understand, and interpret contract documents.
Identify possible problems in contract documents and propose solutions or refer them to the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager or Project Coordinator as appropriate.
Ensure construction work is performed in accordance with the contract documents through inspection and monitoring.
Prepare required documentation for the assigned project.
Assist in operation of the Quality Control/Quality Compliance program for all projects.
Coordinate ODOT and Contractor personnel to ensure contract requirements of the QA/QC program are complied with.
Enter or transfer information to computers.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants with at least 4 years experience in commercial construction and/or transportation inspection; ODOT certification preferred in one or more disciplines, but not required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
