Job Purpose
In this role, you will be creating technical training materials for the classroom and eLearning content for our Harmonic University learning management system. The ideal candidate will have experience creating task-based technical operational training courses with hands-on labs and skill building exercises for hardware and software products within a terrestrial broadcast, cable, satellite, telco, or OTT environments.
Job Responsibilities
Develop training content by following our templates, company branding, department standards and guidelines.
Ability to shift between independent writer and co-writer for group projects.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing products by keeping the content current with product releases.
Perform usability testing for accuracy and apply to writing assignments (test what you write).
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment where projects are sometimes re-assigned due to customer commitments and high priority requests.
Ability to seek out subject matter experts (SME), attend product meetings, read product release notes and docs in order to stay current with assigned product line(s) and writing projects.
Perform train-the-trainer sessions with trainers to go over new and updated training materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant technical writing experience for creating user documentation, quick start guides, and task-based instructional aids.
Experience with creating PowerPoint presentations.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
Demonstrate the ability to receive and apply verbal and written feedback.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
Certificate or degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience with FrameMaker.
Experience with Camtasia, Storyline 2, Captivate, RoboHelp, Snagit, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Experience with drawing diagrams in PowerPoint, Visio, Coral Draw, Illustrator, or Word.
Physical Demands
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to San Jose California and possibly Europe.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
